Erling Braut Haaland was born on July 21, 2000, in Leeds, England, while his father, Alf-Inge Haaland, was playing in the Premier League for Leeds United. In 2004, the family returned to their hometown Bryne, Norway, where young Erling began his football journey. From the age of five, he trained with the local club Bryne FK. Interestingly, Haaland was a multi-sport child — excelling in handball, golf, and athletics. At just five years old, he set a world record for the longest standing long jump in his age group with a leap of 1.63 meters.

Bryne FK and Molde FK

Haaland made his senior debut with Bryne FK at just 15 years old. His raw potential quickly attracted attention, and in 2017 he joined Molde FK under the guidance of Ole Gunnar Solskjær. His breakout came during the 2018 season when he scored 12 goals in 25 appearances, becoming the club’s top scorer at just 18.

Red Bull Salzburg

In January 2019, Haaland signed with Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg. He grabbed headlines at the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2019 by scoring an incredible nine goals in a single match against Honduras.
